Evan Ditter is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the department of French and Italian. Before coming to Princeton, Evan received a B.A. in French and Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee, an M.A. in French Literature at the Université Lumière Lyon II and taught at the Université of Lyon III. His research interests include language politics and theories of language in 16th century France, particularly the way in which early transatlantic travel narratives represent linguistic alterity in order to shape new notions of a French linguistic identity.
