There will be two aspects to my paper. First I shall discuss some of the respects in which Anne Conway is representative of the issues that arise in relation to the study of women philosophers. I shall argue that to get a fuller sense of her philosophy, and to open up dimensions of her philosophy which have not, typically, been discussed, we need to take seriously her engagement with non-canonical strands of thought. In the second part of the paper I shall illustrate this from what we can piece together about her views on sense-perception.
