He worked for three years as a registrar for a private company in Florence that organized exhibitions and museum design. He then earned a second bachelor’s degree, in languages and intercultural communication, at the University of Siena, where his final thesis investigated the impact of political and social reforms on collections and their display in public and private spaces such as royal palaces, academies, and villas.

Luciano’s current interests span Renaissance and Baroque art, with a specific focus on Italian art in connection with German and Austrian culture and tradition within the European context. His interests involve the history of collections, the interpretation of archival documents, and the influences of politics and pedagogy on art and collecting.
