Whitney Mueller is a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in French. She received her BA in French from Haverford College in 2015. Whitney specializes in the French Renaissance, and her research interests include the evolution of language, cognitive poetics, and classical reception. Her dissertation project examines the rhetorical strategies of sixteenth-century texts with respect to the production of “overwhelming” reading experiences, understood in terms of cognitive overload.
